Top 10 things to do in Split Croatia

Well, well, well, looks like we've got a group of Split enthusiasts on our hands! Are you ready to Split the scene and explore all the best spots in this Croatian city? Let's dive into the top 10 things to do, shall we? Disclaimer: For us they're all number 1, hence...

1. To get a bird's eye view of Split, head up Marjan Hill.

It's a great workout if you hike or bike up, but if you're lazy like me, just stroll around it and pretend you did something healthy while taking in some of the most beautiful views Split has to offer. The total loop is 5 miles or 8km and it’s a fun way to get out and about without working too hard.

2. Explore the Varos neighbourhood, Old Town and Diocletian Palace

You know what they say, "you can't spell 'exploration' without 'Old Town'". Okay, that's not a saying, but it should be. With hidden gems, narrow alleys, bell tower viewpoint, and the underground museum, you'll feel like Indiana Jones searching for a treasure.

3. Find out about the best secret spots on this blog

Look, we're not saying we're a secret society, but we may or may not know about some amazing hidden spots that not even locals know about. So check out this blog and let's keep it between us, okay

4. Get on a boat party

When it comes to partying in Split, forget the clubs, the real party is on a boat. So, grab a cocktail and dance the day away with like-minded travelers, just don't fall overboard, we don't want to have to come fish you out.

5. Visit Klis Fortress

This fortress is not just for Game of Thrones fans, it's also for those who want to feel like royalty with stunning panoramic views of the city. Warning: you may want to declare yourself king or queen of Split once you’re up there.

6. Eat in a Konoba

Do you want to taste the essence of Croatia? Then head to a Konoba, where you'll find traditional food like Pasticada, Brudet or my all time favourite Peka (needs to be ordered 1 day in advance, and trust me it will make your taste buds dance like Shakira.

7. If you like heights, go cliff jumping

Want to give your adrenaline glands a workout? Jump off one of the many cliffs that Split has to offer, from the easy ones at Bacvice Beach and Plaža Ježinac to the highest ones at Sustipan park.

Bonus: Sustipan is a hidden gem that offers stunning views of the Adriatic Sea and nearby islands. This peaceful and charming little park is the perfect spot to take a leisurely stroll, have a picnic, or enjoy its beautiful atmosphere; In this park you will find people slacklining, playing with their dogs or just enjoying time with their friends.

8. Enjoy live music in Peristil

One of my personal favourite things to do in Split is going to the central square inside of Diocletians palace, (once a living room) grabbing a drink, relaxing, and letting the music serenade me into a state of pure bliss. Insider tip: if you're on a budget buy a drink at the supermarket and sit on the stairs, and PLEASE stand up and dance to the music... You never know when you will be dancing on a 1.800 year old roman living room again.

9. If you like sports, try rafting, ziplining, or rock climbing

In Split, you can feel like a superhero by trying outdoor activities like rafting on the Cetina River, ziplining, or rock climbing in Marjan hill or doing water deep solo. If you're interest in the latter, I would recommend renting paddle boards and asking at the rental shop for the best spots to do so. In Split, you'll be saying "Avengers, who?" in no time.

10. Visit the local dog shelter and contribute to their cause

If you're an animal lover, visiting the local dog shelter should be on your list. You can volunteer, donate, buy some of their beautiful merch or simply play with some cute pups. Just be careful, you may fall in love and end up wanting to adopt them all.

11.😜 Have a beach day at Kasjuni Beach

Who doesn't love a day at the beach? Kasjuni Beach is a popular spot for both tourists and locals alike. With crystal-clear water, stunning scenery, and plenty of sun loungers, it's the perfect place to relax and soak up some rays. Don't forget your sunscreen!

There you have it! The top 10, or 11* things to do in Split, Croatia. Don't forget to take lots of pictures, have fun, and tell everyone how awesome you are for discovering this Croatian paradise.
